Which Period Products Are Right for You?

Finding the right Period Products that fit your Lifestyle.

Whether it’s tampons, pads, menstrual cups, or period underwear, every woman has her own preferences, routines, and needs. And the great part is: you don’t have to stick with just one option. Many of us use different products depending on the stage of life we’re in, the day of our cycle, or what our schedule looks like, whether we’re at work, on vacation, exercising, or relaxing at home.

Here are a few questions to consider before choosing your period care products:

  • Do you play sports or enjoy swimming?
  • Is sustainability important to you?
  • How heavy is your menstrual flow?
  • Do you prefer natural or reusable products?

Tampons

Tampons are inserted into the vagina and absorb blood directly inside the body. They’re especially useful for sports and swimming – perfect for beach days or pool workouts. It’s important to change them regularly (about every 4 hours, or more often on heavier days) to avoid infections such as toxic shock syndrome (TSS).

Pads and Reusable Pads

Pads are a classic choice and can help you get to know your cycle since you can see how much blood you’re losing. They come in different sizes and absorbencies, from ultra-thin to overnight protection. Reusable pads are a sustainable alternative, made from cloth and padding. They can be washed, dried, and used again, often lasting for years. Plus, many come in fun patterns and colors.

Menstrual Cups

A menstrual cup, made from silicone or rubber, is inserted into the vagina where it collects the blood just below the cervix. It can usually be worn for longer periods than a tampon – sometimes up to 8–12 hours, depending on your flow. Many women like menstrual cups because they’re eco-friendly, discreet, and reliable for both everyday use and during sports or swimming.

Period Underwear

Period underwear has built-in absorbent layers that collect menstrual blood. It can be worn on its own or together with other products. It’s designed for comfort, leak protection, and sustainability. After wearing, you simply wash them like regular underwear and reuse them. Period underwear can be especially helpful for busy days when you don’t want to think about changing products as often.

Final Thoughts

There’s no “one-size-fits-all” solution when it comes to period care. You can mix and match products depending on your lifestyle, comfort, and values. Maybe tampons for the gym, period underwear for long workdays, and a menstrual cup for the weekend. Your body, your choice.
