Teena is programmed with a complex algorithm which evaluates your cycle by tracking your morning temperature (taken under the tongue) and knowing when you have your period. The Teena App will then display your measured temperature value and the current phase of your cycle.
You can edit your menstruation input up to 3 days retroactively. Open your Teena App and select the date you want to edit. Select the plus (+) sign and then touch one of the drops corresponding to your flow amount. Swipe down to close this screen and you will see the period confirmed in the daily details.
You can always rely on Teena. If you have to skip a measurement after a sleepless night, Teena will still display your cycle phase. Depending on where you are in your cycle, Teena will react accordingly.
The first 2-4 cycles of use are considered the learning phase. Over the course of the learning phase, Teena will come to understand your cycle and begin predicting your next menstruation with accuracy.
It is best to try and measure your temperature every day. The more days you use Teena to measure your temperature, the better Teena can learn and predict your cycles.
Before you can begin using Teena, you must first synchronize with the Teena App to activate your device and create an account. Place your thumb on the touch field (for 4 seconds) until you see a slowly flashing turquoise light, to turn Teena on. Teena is now ready to connect to the app. Open the Teena App and follow the onscreen instructions to pair your Teena. If you have already been using Teena App in Free Mode, open the Account menu and select Register, then follow the on-screen instructions.
It will take approximately 30 seconds to measure.
Teena automatically switches off after 60 seconds.
Below the tongue in the pocket next to your lingual frenulum (that’s the muscle line you feel running along the underside of your tongue) and with your mouth closed. It is best to measure on the same side each morning with the sensor tip lightly touching the bottom of your tongue if comfortable.
You can start using your Teena right away.
First things first: If you feel that there is something not right, you feel sick, or you have pain, never hesitate to consult your doctor! Most people tolerate vaccinations without any problems. Sometimes, however, vaccination reactions occur: These are almost always harmless after-effects of vaccinations, which in the vast majority of cases pass very quickly. Some vaccinated people react with a slight fever (below 39°C / 102°F), aching limbs or faintness. The fever can occur only a few hours after vaccination and last up to 3 days. Such vaccination reactions are usually completely harmless and no cause for concern. As a rule of thumb: If you wake up in the morning after the vaccination and feel different than usual, for example sick or overtired, then interrupt the measurements until you feel better again.
When staying in other time zones, synchronize your Teena with the Teena app after your arrival and your phone’s time has updated. If the time difference is more than 6 hours, we recommend skipping the measurement on the same day and the following day. You can resume your measurements as usual on the day after.
That depends on whether the medication influences your body temperature or your cycle. In general, you should skip measurements while you are taking such medication. If you have doubts, contact your doctor or our support team.
In general, you should skip measurements when you are sick and while you are taking medication that can have an influence on your body temperature or cycle. If you have doubts, contact your doctor or our support team.
Store your Teena in a cool, dry location. Teena will be ready to resume use whenever you are. If you are ready for a more in depth look at your cycle and fertility, your data can be transferred to the Daysy fertility tracker. Contact your local support team for more information.
Only very few (hormone-free) medications have a direct influence on your measurements, but often the reason why you are taking medication can influence your temperature (e.g. fever or stress). Hormonal medication will influence your temperature. If you're unsure, consult with your doctor or contact our customer service.
Because Teena has an intelligent algorithm, it can compensate for the occasional missed reading. We still recommend you measure as regularly as possible so that Teena can predict your next menstruation as precisely as possible. If you have to skip measurements due to illness, Teena will get back on track once you start again.
Use a damp cloth to carefully clean the sensor of your device. You can also use a little alcohol or soap if you wish. Since Teena is not waterproof, make sure that only the sensor and not the whole appliance comes into contact with water. We recommend the following steps for cleaning: 1. Clean the sensor and tip with lukewarm water and/or mild soap before and after each use. 2. Dry with a clean cloth. These steps will reduce the number of germs or possible viruses on the surface of the device. This cleaning is sufficient for daily personal use. If the device needs to be disinfected as well, the following steps can be practiced: 1. Wash your hands thoroughly or wear disposable gloves. 2. Clean the sensor and tip (as per steps 1 & 2 listed above). 3. Moisten the sensor and tip with a disinfectant (limited virucidal), alcohol (60-80%) or isopropanol 70%. 4. Allow to air-dry (the sensor should not touch any other objects or surfaces).
Information COVID-19: We are taking precautions as necessary, with staff wearing gloves, use of Personal Protective Equipment and increased cleaning methods. All products are disinfected prior to shipping. Coronaviruses are encased viruses, meaning they are encased in a lipid envelope. All disinfectants with a virucidal (antiviral) or limited virucidal spectrum of efficacy are effective against coronaviruses. A list of all tested and approved disinfectants to fight Covid-19 is available from United States Environmental Protection Agency found here: www.epa.gov The agents listed can inactivate the corona virus, which means it loses its ability to be infectious. This can be done in different ways: · Denaturation -> destruction of the virus surface · Removal of lipids from the virus envelope -> e.g. alcohol · Impairment to the nucleic acid of the viral genome Alcohol is capable of destroying the virus shell and can often be found already in your home. Alcohol that is 60% alcohol is effective in inactivating the virus. However, 100% alcohol is not effective because only alcohol with a proportion of water allows the lipids to be dissolved from the virus envelope. An alcohol volume between 60% and 80% is therefore recommended. Isopropanol (70% )is also a suitable agent for the inactivation of COVID-19. You can learn more about cleaning and disinfection for households from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention here: www.cdc.gov
You can edit your menstruation input up to 3 days retroactively. Open your Teena App and select the date you want to edit. Select the plus (+) sign and then touch one of the drops corresponding to your flow amount. Swipe down on the card and you will see the period confirmed in the daily details.
Touch and hold the touch field on your Teena and your measurement status will be indicated by the color of the flashing light. Turquoise means a temperature was recorded; orange means the temperature was not recorded or was unsuccessful.
No. Teena will only record the first measurement of the day.
One or two skipped measurements are not a problem; Teena will simply use your earlier data to calculate your cycle. Multiple missing values per cycle may make it difficult for Teena to predict the start of your next cycle.
No. What is important is that you measure immediately upon waking after getting at least 1 hour of sleep, before getting up and being active.
Yes, please take your temperature throughout your entire menstrual cycle. However, on some days you should refrain from taking a measurement: for example, when you are ill (fever) or when you did not sleep at least 1 hour.
- Flashing orange light
= Teena is ready to record a measurement - Flashing turquoise light
= Your temperature has been successfully recorded / Teena is ready to synchronize with the app - Flashing orange and turquoise light = The temperature measurement was not completed. Let Teena fall asleep and then restart the measurement.
Use Teena in the morning right after waking up, before getting up and out of bed. Measure below your tongue, with your mouth closed. We do recommend that you sleep at leats 1 hour before measuring.
Yes, your initial Teena order includes everything you need.
No, since you measure below the tongue, these factors have no influence on the measurement.

If you are ready for a more in depth look at your cycle and fertility, your data can be transferred to the Daysy fertility tracker. Contact your local support team for more information.
Only one person can use Teena at a time, however, if you have finished using Teena and want to pass it along to a friend, you can do so. Open the Teena app to your Profile menu (heart icon) and then Account. Select the Unpair button at the bottom of the page. Your friend can now use Teena and pair the device with her own profile in her Teena App.
Teena doesn’t allow menstruation entries prior to 3 days in the past. However, you can begin recording and syncing your temperature as soon as you have activated your account on the Teena App. Teena will start tracking with your first temperature and you can explore the cycle journey and magazine articles.
Yes! Everyone has problems sleeping from time to time, stays up late, or sleeps in. It does not matter for this method because it recognizes and evaluates its own pattern to display the follicular and luteal cycle phases.
Teena is not just for teens. You can continue to use your Teena for as long as you want. When you are ready for a more in-depth view of your cycles, ie knowing fertility statuses, you can have your data transferred to another Valley Electronics product such as Daysy or Lady-Comp.
Teena’s battery can last up to 7 years, possibly longer depending on use.
Teena will store up to one month of temperature measurements between synchronizations. Synchronize with the Teena App at least once every 30 days to avoid losing the older data saved in Teena’s memory. Your measurements are safely stored once you have synchronized with the app. However, if you logout of the app, lose your Teena, AND lose the recovery key to the app there will not be a way to access your data, so please keep your recovery key in a safe location.
Teena is made from hardy materials that can normally withstand a small fall, however we recommend checking for damage and abnormal behavior. If you do not see any physical damage and Teena’s lights appear to be working like normal, then Teena is likely okay. We suggest that you keep an eye out for erratic readings, difficulty syncing with the app, or any other abnormal behavior, as these can indicate other problems.
Open the Settings menu in the Teena app to view the battery’s voltage level at the last synchronization. A healthy battery should be around 3.05V.
If the device did not take your temperature, try to repeat the measurement. Make sure to hold the device still and your mouth closed while you take your temperature.
Your Teena has an internal battery that will last for up to 7 years.
No. Teena only records the first daily measurement. If you have concerns about a reading, please contact our customer service team.
When the orange and turqoise lights are alternating, this means that a measurement was not successfully recorded.
Open the Settings menu in the Teena app to view the battery’s voltage level at the last synchronization. A healthy battery should be around 3.05V.
Yes, "Teena App" works with most Androids and iOS. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app store description will give you information on the latest app version and software requirements.
When you synchronize Teena with Teena App, your temperature values and time of measurement are sent to the app. You can also manually add other information such as period flow, emotions, symptoms and notes.
After recording your temperature, open the Teena App and select the Sync button on the right side of the screen (it looks like the arrows going in circles). If Teena is on, your synchronization will begin automatically. If Teena is not on, you will be prompted to turn Teena on and then press the Sync button. A blinking turquoise light indicates that your Teena is ready for synchronization.
Android phones require the app to have access to the phone's location data in order to enable Bluetooth® communication. Please rest assured that this is strictly an Android requirement. The Teena App app and Valley Electronics are not collecting, storing, or accessing any location information. This is strictly to allow the app to communicate with your Teena via Bluetooth®.
No. Teena App will only import data from Teena or the additional tracking information you have manually entered.
Yes. The Teena App is where you will see all of your cycle information.
Please contact your local support team with the serial number of your Teena and a proof of purchase.
No. If you have been a registered user in the Freemium version of the Teena App, you can sync your new Teena and maintain all of your previous data.
Open the Teena app to your Profile menu (heart icon) and then Account. Select the Unpair button at the bottom of the page. All of your data will be removed from the app and you will be returned to the Welcome screen.
Low temperature values could indicate an air pocket around the sensor tip during the measurement. To get the best measurement results, be sure to the tip of your Teena sensor is making contact with the bottom of your tongue when recording your temperature.
"Teena App" is an app available for free download in your Google Play or Apple App Store. When used and synchronized with Teena, the app helps you to track and understand your cycle, as well as educate and empower you.
Yes, absolutely. Teena is paired with your personal recovery key, not your specific phone. Before changing phones, open the Profile in the Teena App and find your recovery key in the Account menu. Now install Teena App on your new phone. Select Start Tracking, answer Yes to "Do you have a Teena?" then accept the Privacy Policy. Enter your recovery key here and then you will see all of your data again.
All your personal data and information is safe with us. You do not have to provide any personal data, such as name or email address, to use the app. Your app account runs on your Teena serial number, which only you can know. During the sign-up process, you will receive a recovery key. This recovery key combined with the serial number allows you to recover the data in case you lose your phone.
Your first period (also known as menarche) is individual to you. Your first period will likely not happen at the same time as your friends’ first periods. On average, first periods arrive for pre-teens when they’re around 12 years old. But your first period may come earlier or later.
There are a few changes you will experience before the arrival of your first period. Before you get your first period your breasts will begin to develop, you will notice pubic hair growing under your arms and around your vulva area, and you will have a growth spurt. When your first period’s arrival is getting closer you will probably see some white cervical fluid in your underwear.
If you recently started getting your periods and you have irregular cycles, don’t worry: this is normal! A major study from the World Health Organization discovered that on average the first cycle you have after your first period is 34 days. That means there were 34 days from the first period day to the start of the next period. If you’ve been taught to expect all menstrual cycles to be 28 days in length, it might surprise you when your own cycles don’t match up. But, in reality, 38% of menstrual cycles studied by WHO went on as long as 40 days. For 10% there were more than 60 days between the first and second period. 7% had a first cycle length of 20 days.
Menstrual cycles are usually more irregular in the first year or two after you get your first period. As you get older, they usually become more regular. This is because anovulatory cycles (menstrual cycles without ovulation) happen more often when you begin getting cycles, especially if you got your first period before your teens.
A great way to start preparing for your first period is to learn all about the magic of your menstrual cycle and for this you’ve come to the right place! The more you learn about periods, the more confident you will feel when you start having cycles. Knowledge is power!
Secondly, you can prepare by putting together a first period kit for yourself, with your parent, or with your friends. This should contain period care products like pads, a change of underwear, and maybe some wipes. You can carry this with you to school in your bag or if you go on a sleepover. Usually periods arrive at school because that is where you spend a lot of time! If you’re worried about leaks, you can always have an extra shirt or sweater in your locker to tie around your waist if it happens. But know that everyone experiences leaks and it’s okay!
Your period may look like blood, but it’s actually different to the blood you will see if you cut your finger, for example. It contains blood, but also cells and tissue and nutrients from the inner lining of your uterus. About once a month your body signals to your uterus that it should let that lining go, and it lets it go out of your vagina onto a pad or into a tampon or cup. Menstruation follows ovulation - that’s when your body releases an egg - after a certain amount of days. Hormones make ovulation happen and then they make menstruation happen in a predictable process that is your menstrual cycle!
Shopping for your period can be fun! There are four main period care products for you to choose from - pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and period panties. Pads come in different shapes, sizes and absorbencies so it’s a good idea to get a multipack at first so you can figure out your flow. Tampons also come in multipacks. With both pads and tampons, you will use several a day and throw them in the trash when they’re used. There are also menstrual cups and period panties. With menstrual cups you will empty and wash it, then use it again. With period panties, you might wear all day and then switch in the evening, putting the used panties in the laundry basket. All of these options are great for someone who has just started getting their period. You can try them all in the next few months and see which you like best. You might pick just one or decide to use two, like say a tampon and period panties or a cup and a pad.
How long your period lasts (which means how long will you actually see period blood) can be different for you than your best friend, but for most tweens and teens a period lasts, at most, 7 days. Some of those days (mainly at the start and the end) you will see very little period blood at all. Using Teena to track your period will help you to get to know how long your period normally lasts and be prepared for future periods.
Cramps happen, but not everyone gets cramps.
If you do have the mild pain of cramps, this will usually come on when your period is just starting. You might feel them in your belly area or your lower back area. Cramps come in waves and may feel like a dull ache or sense of pressure.
While some cramping is common and many of us do have cramps for some periods, the pain should not be so bad that it stops you from going to school or having fun with your friends.
Much less than you expect! An average period is about four tablespoons of period blood at most. Go fill four tablespoons with water, juice, or soda and put it in a glass! See, it’s not much at all.
There might come a time when you want to get period blood out of some of your favorite underwear, pajamas, or bed sheets. First of all, a parent or trusted adult can help you, don’t feel like this is something only you have experienced, most people who get periods (or love someone who gets periods!) have had to clean up period blood! The best way is to use cold water from the tap instead of hot. Just run a little cold water on the spot and rub it, you’ll be amazed at how quickly it disappears.
It is normal for cycles to fluctuate. If you're unsure, feel free to contact our customer service.
Yes, that is very normal for a teen. The importance is that a good portion of these cycles are ovulatory.
No, unless you tell them, no one will know you have your period.
If you’re worried about leaks consider taking an extra shirt or sweater to school and leaving it in your locker. That way you can always tie it around your waist if you need to. But even if there are stains, know that usually they are small and not noticeable to anyone else. Otherwise, you look just the same when you’re on your period as when you’re not.
That said, feel free to tell whoever you want about having a period and feel proud!
White or off-white or transparent “stuff” in your underwear that may look streaky or be stretchy or even globby is likely cervical fluid. You will see cervical fluid before you get your first period and during your menstrual cycles.
Cervical fluid protects the uterus from bacteria from the outside. It also plays an important role in helping sperm get to the egg for conception. When we plan for a family, we can know when we’re able to get pregnant by looking at our cervical fluid.
If you notice other kinds of fluid from your vagina that is yellow or green or looks like cottage cheese, especially if you also feel itching or burning, that can be a sign of infection. If you’re concerned about this, talk to your doctor or a trusted adult.
Yes. Irregular cycles are not a problem for Teena. As your cycles become more regular, Teena will be able to more accurately predict your next menstruation. If you have questions about your unique cycle, please reach out to our team of experts.
Let your teen know that Teena helps alleviate the anxiety over when the next period will arrive. The app makes learning about her cycles and changing body fun; and she can learn in privacy, at her own pace, without feeling awkward or embarrassed. As an added bonus, the app allows positive, supportive time on their phone.
It takes around 8-10 years for a menstural cycle to regulate for a teenager.
Yes, we had a test group for 6 months. After a brief learning curve, they stayed consistent and actually enjoyed the self check in every morning
The Teena App does not collect any personal data, such as name, email address or phone number. The account is created using the Teena device serial number. If no Teena device is being used, a virtual device ID is created. During the sign-up process a recovery key is also generated and is known only to the user of the app. An account can only be logged into with the combination of device serial number (or virtual device ID) and the recovery key. In order to display the cycle phases and menstruation predictions, the temperature and menstruation data is transferred to our server for evaluation. Since we know how sensitive this data is, it is transferred in an encrypted (https) and anonymized format to our servers within the European Union, and stored there. This means that even if unauthorized third parties were to gain access to the servers, it is not possible for the data (basal body temperature, menstruation, ovulation) to be associated to a specific person. This special protection is very important to us.
Teena app provides valuable knowledge about everything related to the female body and being a teenager. A daily display of the body temperature (if using the Teena device) is accompanied by a simplified display of the basal body temperature curve and cycle phases, as well as positive affirmations. The Cycle Journey is an animated journey through the different phases of the cycle, from the hormones released in the brain, to the egg's path from follicle to uterus, all the way to the beginning of the next period. Short magazine articles are provided to discuss the hormones and what they control, female anatomy and self-care tips for the period. The content, written by experts and illustrated in a contemporary way, helps young women develop an awareness of their body and their femininity and use it as the superpower it is.
For optimal use of Daysy, we recommend that you should have slept sufficiently (at least one hour) before the measurement. It is important that you take your temperature immediately after waking up, before getting up and becoming active. Measure below your tongue, with your mouth closed, and keep the device steady while it is measuring. Video Tutorial
Please contact your customer service for guidance.
No. Daysy will only record the first measurement of the day.
Simply press the activation button and your fertility status will be displayed.
One or two skipped measurements are not a problem; Daysy will simply use your earlier data to calculate your fertility. Multiple missing values per cycle will lead to a higher number of red or yellow days.
You can immediately start with the measurements. If you were using hormonal birth control before, stop using it before you begin measuring. The first bleeding after coming off hormonal birth control is a withdrawal bleeding and must not be entered as your period. If you are menstruating when starting with Daysy and you cannot enter all days, do not enter the current menstruation, but the next one. The first day of menstruation is important because it marks the beginning of your cycle.
Below the tongue in the pocket next to your frenulum and with your mouth closed. It is best to measure on the same side each morning if comfortable.
Yes, you can. Daysy is also reliable during the transition to menopause. If your ovulation is delayed or doesn't occur, Daysy will display more red and yellow days. Using Daysy will allow you to directly observe the changes that are happening to your cycle.
Yes, Daysy can be used while breastfeeding. You should not start measuring until 6 weeks after birth. Since there is no way to predict the first ovulation after birth, Daysy will stay yellow until the first menstruation is entered postpartum. Once you enter your first period, Daysy will display fewer red and yellow days in the following 2-4 cycles as Daysy gets to know your unique cycle rhythm.
Daysy 1.0: If you traveled overnight, skip the first measurement after your arrival and continue to measure regularly the next day after resuming a normal sleep cycle. Do the same thing when you return home from traveling.
Daysy 2.0: When traveling with your Daysy, it is important to set the time on your Daysy to the local time before resuming your temperature readings. Set your mobile phone to the local time zone (many phones will do this automatically) and synchronize your Daysy with DaysyView/DaysyDay to set the time on Daysy. Take your temperature and resume use as normal the next morning.
Yes, you can always rely on Daysy. Be sure to use Daysy daily right after you wake up, before you get up and get active. For optimal use of Daysy, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement. If you have to skip a measurement after a sleepless night, Daysy will still reliably display your fertility status. Depending on where you are in your cycle, Daysy will react accordingly.
It will take approximately 60 seconds to measure.
No. Daysy only records the first daily measurement. If you have concerns about a reading, please contact our customer service team.
No. You should have at least one hour of good quality sleep before the measurement. It is important that you take your temperature immediately after waking up, before getting up and becoming active. For optimal use of Daysy, try to get at least 3 or more hours of sleep before measuring. Less sleep can result in more temperature fluctuations causing Daysy to give more fertile or potentially fertile days.
When Daysy displays a red light, it means that you are fertile. You can check your status anytime by activating Daysy.
Yes. Daysy has been designed for women like you. Be sure to use Daysy daily right after you wake up, before you get up and get active. For optimal use of Daysy, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement.
Daysy 1.0: Daysy only registers one measurement after 18 hours have passed since your last reading.
Daysy 2.0: Daysy only registers one measurement per day. If the next day has not yet started, a tone (beep-beep) will sound.
Yes, but be sure to use Daysy daily right after you wake up, before you get up and get active. For optimal use of Daysy, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement. Daysy can handle skipped measurements from time to time.
Yes, please take your temperature throughout your entire menstrual cycle. However, on some days you should refrain from taking a measurement: for example, after excessive alcohol consumption, when you are ill (fever) or when you are feeling very bad.
You can confirm or remove menstruation at any time during the current day. Simply press the button to turn on your Daysy, and then press and hold the activation button until the violet light lights up without flashing and you hear a "beep." Confirm you are menstruating for each day of active bleeding and for a minimum of three consecutive days. You can also remove menstruation data for the same day by turning Daysy on and pressing and holding the activation button until the purple/blue light is no longer solidly lit and begins flashing again.
Daysy automatically switches off after 60 seconds or after syncing with the DaysyDay app.
Our devices expect a certain amount of normal irregularity. Cycle lengths of 19-40 days are the ideal requirement. The statistics display the ovulation range. If your ovulation fluctuates by more than 4 days or if your cycle length lies outside the 19 - 40 day range, please contact our team of experts.
It is normal for cycles to fluctuate. If you're unsure, feel free to contact our customer service.
Certain "strict" diets can lead to cycle irregularities, often times causing your period to come later. If you're unsure, reach out to our support team.
Yes. Irregular cycles are not a problem for Daysy/Lady-Comp. Even with irregular cycles, all Valley devices distinguish between non-fertile and fertile days with a very high accuracy. However, in case of extreme fluctuations between cycles it will give you more red and yellow lights and less green lights. Fluctuations of several days are usually not a problem. If you have questions about your unique cycle, please reach out to our team of experts.
Only very few (hormone-free) medications have a direct influence on your measurements, but often the reason why you are taking medication can influence your temperature (e.g. fever or stress). Hormonal medication will influence your temperature and should under no circumstances be taken in combination with Daysy or Lady-Comp. If you're unsure, consult with your doctor or contact our customer service.
If your efforts to become pregnant have not been successful within six to twelve months, consult your physician.
No, over-the-counter pain medication will not influence the measurements. The common additional antifebrile effect does not influence the basal temperature. However, please do not temp if you're using these medications to control a fever. If you're unsure, please contact our customer service.

Red = fertile / possibly fertile (On red days you can plan for a pregnancy.)
Green = non-fertile days (You are not fertile on green days.)
Yellow = learning phase/cycle fluctuation (Yellow days should be considered as potentially fertile days.)
Bright blue = possible pregnancy
Dark blue = probable pregnancy
That depends on whether the medication influences your body temperature or your cycle. In general, you should skip measurements while you are taking such medication. If you have doubts, contact your doctor or our customer service team.

Remove the battery and store the device in a dry location.
The first 2-4 cycles of use are considered as learning phase. Over the course of the learning phase, Lady-Comp/Pearly will come to understand your cycle and begin narrowing down your fertile window. The devices remain quite cautious and conservative during this time, which is why Lady-Comp/Pearly is accurate starting the very first day.
Ideally, you measure daily. The fewer measurements you miss, the better.

We still recommend you measure as regularly as possible so that your fertile phase can be narrowed down as precisely as possible. If you have to skip measurements due to illness, Lady-Comp/Pearly will get back on track once you start again.
Smoking should not influence the result. Alcohol, if consumed excessively or when your body is not used to it, does influence basal body temperature. If you can feel that you were drinking yesterday, you should skip your reading in the morning. If you feel just fine and have no headache or other symptoms of alcohol consumption, you are fine to temp as usual.
The non-hormonal IUD prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg in the mucous membrane of the uterus. Because the IUD is a foreign object inside the body, it causes the production of white blood cells - similar to inflammation. These small centres of inflammation in the uterus, which are normally not detected at all, can change the waking temperature. In order to obtain precise measurement results, it is therefore advisable to remove the spiral - and only then use a cycle computer.
Lady-Comp/Pearly expects a certain amount of normal irregularity. For optimal use of Lady-Comp/Pearly, cycle lengths of 19-40 days are the ideal requirement.
When staying in other time zones, set your cycle computer to the local time immediately after arrival and activate the alarm. If the time lag is more than 6 hours, we recommend skipping the measurement on the same day and the following day. Instead, you continue to measure as usual on the day after.
You can rely on Lady-Comp's results starting the very first day of use. In the beginning, you will see more yellow and red days because they Lady-Comp is still learning your unique cycle rhythms. You will see more green days as the device comes to understand your cycle and can narrow down your fertile window. The more regularly you measure, the better.
You can immediately start with the measurements. If you were using hormonal birth control before, stop using it before you begin measuring. The first bleeding after coming off hormonal birth control is a withdrawal bleeding and must not be entered as your period. If you are menstruating when starting with Lady-Comp and you cannot enter all days, do not enter the current menstruation, but the next one. The first day of menstruation is important because it marks the beginning of your cycle.
Yes, but be sure to use Lady-Comp (or Pearly) daily right after you wake up, before you get up and get active. For optimal use of Lady-Comp, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement. If you don't get that during certain nights, there is no reason for concern. Lady-Comp (or Pearly) can handle skipped measurements from time to time.

Yes, our fertility trackers can be used while breastfeeding. You should not start measuring until 6 weeks after birth. Since there is no way to predict the first ovulation after birth, Lady-Comp/Pearly will show yellow (learning phase/cycle fluctuation) until the first menstruation is entered postpartum. Once you enter your first period, Lady-Comp/Pearly will display fewer red and yellow days in the following 2-4 cycles as Lady-Comp/Pearly gets to know your unique cycle rhythm.
No. Lady-Comp/Pearly only records the first daily measurement. If you have concerns about a reading, please contact our customer service team.

Note: The alarm must be set and activated prior to midnight to set the first measurement window for the next morning.
One or two skipped measurements are not a problem; Lady-Comp/Pearly will simply use your earlier data to calculate your fertility. Multiple missing values per cycle will lead to a higher number of red or yellow days.
When you see a red light, it means that you are fertile. You can check your status anytime by activating Lady-Comp/Pearly.
It will take approximately 60 seconds to measure.
You can edit your menstruation input up to 3 days retroactively. Open the fertility window (Lady-Comp) or go to the fertility level (Pearly) and select the date you want to edit. Daysy is proven to be very accurate, Based on a 10-year analysis of 107,000 cycles, scientists confirmed that Valley’s algorithm distinguishes between non-fertile and fertile days with 99.4% accuracy. So you can fully trust Daysy from day one.
No, your data will not automatically transfer from the app to your new Daysy. Please get in touch with customer support prior to purchasing a Daysy 2.0 if you’d like to have your data transferred.
To avoid damage, please do not place Daysy under your pillow. Keep Daysy in a safe place within easy reach.
No, Daysy is your individual fertility tracker with your individual data.
Daysy is programmed with a complex algorithm which evaluates your cycle by tracking your morning temperature (taken under the tongue) and knowing when you have your period. Daysy will then show you right away if you are currently fertile or not.
Yes. If you sleep with your mouth open, just close it once and swallow before you measure. The measurement is finished when the temperature has reached its final value and you hear a soft beep beep from Daysy. Daysy may take a couple of seconds longer to measure for those users who sleep with their mouths open. Please be sure not to open your mouth while measuring.
Yes, your initial Daysy order includes everything you need.
That depends on whether the medication influences your body temperature or your cycle. In general, you should skip measurements while you are taking such medication. If you have doubts, contact your doctor or our customer service team.

The first 2-4 cycles of use are considered Daysy's learning phase. Over the course of her learning phase, Daysy will come to understand your cycle and begin narrowing down your fertile window. Daysy remains quite cautious and conservative during this time, which is why Daysy is accurate starting the very first day.

Ideally, you measure daily. The fewer measurements you miss, the better.
A fever is when your body temperature reaches at least 38°C (100.4°F) degrees - if this is the case, you will most likely feel ill and you will notice that your temperature curve is unusually high (see example curve). The DaysyDay app will alert you that your temperature is high and recommend you temp with a standard medical thermometer. Temperatures above 37.8°C (100.4°F) or below 35°C (95°F) degrees are automatically excluded from the algorithm and will not be used for your fertility calculations.
Red = fertile / possibly fertile (On red days you can plan for a pregnancy.)
Red flashing = predicted day of ovulation
Green = infertile days (You are not fertile on green days.)
Yellow = learning phase/cycle fluctuation (Yellow days should be considered as red days.)
Red, green, yellow (blinking) = possible pregnancy
If you feel that there is something not right, you feel sick, or you have pain, never hesitate to consult your doctor!
The basal body temperature method can be highly reliable when combined with advanced technology. Our medically tested device integrates a precise sensor with a science-backed algorithm that has been developed and refined over more than 35 years. It measures even the smallest temperature shifts caused by hormonal fluctuations, down to a hundredth of a degree. Validated in 16 clinical studies and through the analysis of over 10 million cycles, this unique algorithm has been proven to identify fertile and non-fertile days with 99.4% accuracy.

You can use Daysy to know exactly when you are possible fertile and when you already had your ovulation. Based on these insights you can get to know your cycle and live in tune with your body.
If you are trying to get pregnant the fertility tracker Daysy can support you immensely. There are several methods to calculate your fertile days, and they can also be combined. The classic methods of natural family planning deliver a good result, but they require time-intensive commitment and practice. Daysy takes this work off your shoulders and saves you a lot of time.
You just need to measure your temperature every day in the morning and then Daysy automatically calculates on which days you are fertile and when you are ovulating, also in the following cycles.
No. Daysy records all your data and keeps it safe. If you have synchronized Daysy with DaysyView/DaysyDay, you can also store your data online to keep it safe in case Daysy gets lost or stolen. If that happens, please contact customer service.
No, since you measure below the tongue, these factors have no influence on the measurement.
If for some reason, the increase in temperature is very low, Daysy will switch to displaying red days for a longer period, before switching to yellow days and, eventually, back to green days. A low rise in temperature can be an indication of a hormonal condition. During anovulatory cycles, no rise in temperature is registered because ovulation did not occur. Corpus luteum insufficiency (CLI) is another possible reason for a low or indeterminable rise in temperature because the body doesn't produce sufficient progesterone to make the basal body temperature (BBT) rise. Menopausal women can also register lower increases in temperature, because their estradiol and progesterone values are declining.
Not really. On average, a woman's temperature increases by 0.3 degrees Celsius. If yours rises by more than 0.5 degrees Celsius on average, please contact our customer service.
Not at this time. Daysy can only be connected to the DaysyDay app to view the data.
The DaysyDay app cannot be used without the device, but Daysy can be used as a standalone device by following your indicators directly on the device. The app is just a way to view the data. The app is an extended display and allows you to have a deeper insight into your cycle data. However, the app does not calculate or evaluate any of the data.
No! DaysyDay is free! There are no in-app purchases or upgrade fees.
You can resume normal use of the device but may see additional yellow and red days for the first few cycles. Daysy will get back on track in no time!

Android phones require the app to have access to the phone's location data in order to enable Bluetooth® communication. Please rest assured that this is strictly an Android requirement. The DaysyDay app and Valley Electronics are not collecting, storing, or accessing any location information. This is strictly to allow the app to communicate with your Daysy via Bluetooth®.
No. DaysyDay will only import data from Daysy or the additional tracking information you have manually entered.
When you synchronize Daysy with DaysyDay, all data on Daysy is transmitted. You can also manually add period flow, cervical mucus, intercourse, and other personal tracking information.
Open the app and click on the "Connect your Daysy" button. Select the appropriate button for the model Daysy you have, Bluetooth® or Cable, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Daysy.

For Daysy 2.0 (Bluetooth), press the button on Daysy once to turn it on and then double press the button to activate Bluetooth mode. Make sure Bluetooth® is activated on your phone and the app has permission to access the Bluetooth®. You will see a synchronization animation and then you will be prompted to enter your email address and the pin code you receive via email. Once completed, you will see your data displayed on the calendar and temperature curve.
Yes, absolutely. Your fertility data is always safely stored on your Daysy and other information, such as notes, intercourse, and cervical mucus, is stored to your profile on our private and secure server. When you receive your new phone, simply install the DaysyDay app from the App Store or Play Store and then synchronize your Daysy. Log in with the same email address you used to create your profile in the app on your old phone, confirm your personal data, and then you will see all of your information again.
DaysyDay Partner requires internet access so that the app can display the most current data retrieved from the server after the Daysy user's most recent synchronization. This is also required in case permission levels have changed and access to certain data has been granted or removed.
"DaysyDay" is an app available for free download in your app store. When used and synchronized with Daysy, the app displays your past, current, and future fertility statuses and provides additional insights to help you learn more about your cycle.
The intended use statement for your app can be found in the Main Menu of the app under Info - DaysyDay Information.
Daysy's internal clock is automatically set when you synchronize with the DaysyDay app on your phone. Once the time updates on your phone after traveling, or after the seasonal time change, synchronize your Daysy to update Daysy's clock as well. Please note that any temperature measurements recorded between the time change and the first synchronization in the new "time zone" will still be displayed with the old time stamp. The displayed measurement time does not have an effect on your cycle calculations.
The serial number of your app (sometimes referred to as the version number) can be found in Settings > Info > DaysyDay Information. This number may be asked for by customer support when assisting with app related concerns.
These horizontal lines run through your average low and high temperatures of each cycle, calculated once the cycle has closed. Because basal body temperature values naturally fluctuate each day, these lines can help you visualize the temperature step that occurs after ovulation. To learn more about how Daysy identifies and uses this temperature step to calculate your daily fertility, please read the article The Fertility Tracker Method.

Information COVID-19:
We are taking precautions as necessary, with staff wearing gloves, use of Personal Protective Equipment and increased cleaning methods. All products are disinfected prior to shipping.
Coronaviruses are encased viruses, meaning they are encased in a lipid envelope. All disinfectants with a virucidal (antiviral) or limited virucidal spectrum of efficacy are effective against coronaviruses. A list of all tested and approved disinfectants to fight Covid-19 is available from United States Environmental Protection Agency found here: www.epa.gov
The agents listed can inactivate the corona virus, which means it loses its ability to be infectious. This can be done in different ways:
· Denaturation -> destruction of the virus surface · Removal of lipids from the virus envelope -> e.g. alcohol · Impairment to the nucleic acid of the viral genome
Alcohol is capable of destroying the virus shell and can often be found already in your home.
